Lunch with a Book

Lunch these days is a sandwich, a soup and a book ... a damned poor threesome that takes a whole medium water to wash down. Is it *really* obsessive monogamy to want to have lunch with someone you love rather than 300 pages of speculative fiction? Is it technically a foursome if I add a bag of chips? Will I need to talk about this lunch at Confession?

I hate dining in the Evil Corporation's Main Cafeteria.

Feels like cheating.

Hi Skeeter,

I've just had a lonely lunch&TV (my foursome was soup, chicken nuggets, fuit and diet coke).
So I have an idea of what your obsessive monogamy means. (*sigh*)

I hope you can add a Sunshine to your meals real soon. :)

I like to lunch with a book, but that's just me. It happens all too infrequently here on the ole homestead, so it just looks like a slice of heaven.

I hope it's a book that helps you "check out" for awhile.
I wouldn't be able to take a good book with me to lunch, because I would have a tough time putting it down!!

...and so i spend my "lunch" at my desk reading my blogging friends' posts and drinking my protein shake lunch... not much interaction, but hey, i get my reading in! : )

As for me, I always have dinner with a book. I probably know how you feel, my hubby is far away too so I spend my breakfast, lunch and dinner, alone, the past few weeks before my father came to visit me last Monday.

Cheer up! ;-)

Actually that sounds like a pretty good, if not exactly memorable lunch. Can't you eat at your desk, or is that even worse than Evil's cafeteria?

I would much rather lunch with a book than anything else.....

Hmm... that was deep meaning... All I can say is just like you, your every post is incomplete without the mention of our dear Sunshine and I love it :)
