A Few of My Favorite Things

After a couple of really tough weeks at work and a BIG FIRE SCARE yesterday, I thought it would be best to think about some of the positives in life. Here are a few of my favorite things.

Togetherness.
I love my Sunshine. Yes, I completely agree. Today is a good day to quit smoking.

Sake & Crab Balls
Crab balls are normally served ONLY at weddings receptions, so I scarfed down this treat thinking about marriage and my Sunshine.

Stuffed Jalapenos
Seriously, does it get any better than this?

Stuffed & Steamed Shitakes

Family
Father and daughter time. She is one of the 8 chicks to fledge this last week.

Having someone ELSE to deal with the crap for a change

Need I say more?

Never had salt & crab balls, but they look good, as do the stuffed jalapenos. I would pass on the steamed shitakes as I'm not a big fan of the fungus.

Have a great weekend, Skeeter.

my boy keaghan had 2 pairs produce 14 chicks a few years back. unfortunately the inexperienced parents meant that the first all died but we ended up with eight survivors and 7 were girls!

I've got some stuffed jalapenos in my freezer this very minute. They will make an appearance this weekend!

Best wishes to you and Sunshine!

I dislike crab, but that crab ball actually looks edible to me.

Skeeter, the comments are too funny!

You're a smoker? I didn't know. No one ever believed I was, but I was, for 8 years. 8 stupid years. I started because my best friend smoked and could blow smoke rings. I wanted to blow smoke rings. So I tried and I learned to blow smoke rings really, really well...but also became a smoker. I hated smoking. Quiting was absolute agony, but here's what helped. My mom. She told me to buy a carton and put in on a shelf. It would alway be there. She was right. In the past I had eliminated cigs and found myself going nutty for them. But having a huge supply ended that. I didn't have to worry. They were there if needed. I never needed again. I quite around 1986 and never looked back. I wish you luck dear friend. Really, I do. It's the hardest thing you will ever do, but the one thing that will bring you so much joy. Trust me!

With love,
Me

P.S. The food looks terrific, but you know I'm a vegetarain! And you and your wife. Precious. Love you darling.

Hi Skeeter!

I love these nice cuddling toothbrushes, lol. It's amazing how you caught the loving side of that simple image from the every day life.

Of all the delicious food you pictured, I've just had stuffed jalapeƱos at Tony Roma's and I really liked them. They were hot, stuffed with cheese, served with delicious ranch dipping sauce.

About your birds: It seems spring has already arrived to Oklahoma, hasn't it? Looks like you're having a demographic explosion at home!

Take care.

PS.- Like Suzanne, I was surprised to read you're a smoker. I quitted smoking too, 10 yrs ago -after having failed several times-.

Good luck if you try!

Thanks for sharing your favorite things with us.. I agree with Leni, the toothbrush picture really captured your beautiful relationship with Sunshine (nice name btw, or is it a nickname?)

As for me, I do have a few favorite things too.. Number one on my list is the beach (or the sea).. then my family, my beads and the dishes I liked to cook.. :-)

P.S. I see that you like Japanese food as well.. good for you!
