Wishcast Wednesday

Jamie asks "What do you wish to remember?" When times get difficult, I wish to remember that Hope still exists and blooms even in the toughest places. I went for a walk and let off some stress. Along the way, I found this little wild flower blooming in the oddest of places today. I am thankful for this little swatch of color.

I am also thankful for my friend Bindi's very kind words today.

Yes, hope. That's a great deal, and maybe the most important thing to remember.

Skeeter,

Thank you for noticing something as small and beautiful as a flower and taking a photo! It's lovely and proud and brave to be sprouting up when so few will notice it. Here's to seeing the beauty around us. May your wish for hope come true!

Yes. Hope is going to make it all better.

The simple act of writing the word hope is enough to start you remembering that it is there...but joining it to our circle of wishers certainly makes it that much more powerful...

Skeeter, I HOPE you begin to find your way to the new that awaits you, while you grieve through what has been lost to you.

As Skeeter wishes for himself, so I lovingly and with intention wish for him, also.

Hope + Action = Desires Met

I believe those little flowers and the like pop up just when we need them most. Lovely that it popped up for you, and you stopped to notice it.

You know, there was a day when I really thought I was going to flunk out of grad school. In complete despair, I decided to take a walk. And a gorgeous crocus popping it's colourful head out of the snow turned me totally around.

Cheers to the blooms of hope.

I love that wish. Just last night, one of my very old friends posted a newspaper article lamenting over the closure of one business, the owner of whom my very old friend knew personally. The owner was "bitter"—his word, not mine—because his employees will now need to find new jobs.

I was so upset at that attitude, I'm afraid I probably reacted too strongly. This man had started his business from nothing, during a recession 20 years ago, and had built it up, defining the American dream. And now he denies that same hope to the rest of us?!

We must maintain hope, because hope exists, and it motivates us and staves off depression.

As Skeeter wishes for himself, so I wish for him also.
