Snow in the Bird Bath
A big storm blew through town and left ice and snow everywhere. This sort of weather won't mean a thing to someone from an ice cold, blue state, but down here in red state land, it stops everything. We make almost no preparation for this kind of weather because it happens so rarely. Last year, I had a full grown Bradford Pear tree where this tough little Lacebark Elm is now. It's coated with icicles.
Not much to do today, but work around the house coz the Evil Corporation closed for the day. Was really hoping someone would come visiting, but all I got was an official "once over" walk by and a sniff from the neighborhood tom cat.
On days like this, just wanna stay home and snuggle with my Sunshine. Not doing any work or anything that means you share your time with anyone else. It can be that way baby. It's your choice. Just say the word and it will happen. You don't have to be Supergirl and conquer the world. It's not about steak or sloppy joes or even tilapia & champagne risotto for that matter. It's about you. You can have anything you want. It really hurts my feelings when you make it seem like you don't want anything at all.

OH weemen (as Old Knudsen would say), why on earth do we do what we do?
Today appears to be a snow day here too...and everyone has colds, so we'll all be snuggling together coughing on each other...
We got sleet and so the streets are dreadful, but we have power! YAY! And the sun is coming out and all the ice will go away by noonish.
Enjoy your snow day. I've heard it is very bad in OK as far as this storm.
i want a snow day!!! i remember when i was a kid growing up in MI (definitely a blue state in terms of 'blue with cold!') and it would start snowing really hard. we've listen avidly to the radio before going to bed, hoping against all hope that our school would close and would close that night so we could sleep in in the morning. it usually didn't. so, we'd get up in the morning with great anticipation--see it still snowing heavily, start getting ready for school but listening to the radio and hoping against all hope that our school would be closed... it usually wasn't. but we always hoped! (hey, i feel a blog post coming on!) unfortunately, our county, for some reason, rarely closed our school. all the other counties around would be closing, but ours liked us to 'git are ejucashin.' :) ah, for a snow day....
We had almost a foot of snow and a high of 4 degrees on Monday and no snow day. That just isn't right. Tomorrow I'm going to take pictures of the icicles hanging off my house.
Sharilyn,
When I was growing up out here in western Nebraska our school superintendent lived across the street from the school. His policy was that if he could make it to school, no snow day. I despised that man!
Closed? Work Closed?
I'm still trying to get my head around that one.
Closed?
Sigh. It would take a snowstorm of monumental porportions for that to happen here.....
Hope the two of you enjoyed the day.
We've had a snow storm last month -we dont get much snow usually- and it was the sensation of the month!
Hm... don't want anything at all? How's the RT finger going? Maybe it needs some loving patience?
You call that ice and snow? lol -- Just kidding; it sucks doesn't it?
I should send a pic of my back yard. Ick! I don't think it'll melt until Memorial Day.
Hey Mr. Skeeter.. I have been reading and catching up on your blog post!!! You have really opened up your heart lately!! Wow, I'm impressed!!! So much wisdom, so much knowledge. And the pain is almost tangible... I wish I could give you a hug.
I can only give you words of encouragement, and tell you that I for one am here and listening... you and Sunshine are in my prayers!!
Aha! the pictures seem as if you are neck deep in snow...lol.
Snow snow and more snow. Been there and done that. Did someone say champagne risotto? Hello!
Oh I love those birdbath shots, you know I do. I saw this post a while back but wasn't signed in so couldn't comment. Glad I came again to rectify that. Skeeter you are the sweetest mushball.
