Travelling again

Obama Pictures and McCain Pictures

Going to New York tomorrow. Will stay in touch. Be back Sunday, kiddos. No PARTIES! No Strangers in the house and no loud music. I don't want to come back here and find a bunch of beer cans on the lawn and toilet paper in the trees ... like last Halloween.

Okay, no parties. We'll all just sit in a quiet circle on the living room floor and hold a seance or play the ouija board. The only sounds will be muffled screams of terror!

Have a good time in my home state! And enjoy the foliage!

And Lavinia, that sounds like fun actually. Perhaps we'll break out a bit of the old absinthe while we're at it.

That reminds me of a time when I was in high school and my parent and little sister went away for the weekend, leaving me alone in our farmhouse in Iowa. I did what any 17 year old would have. I had a big party. My friends and I spent the Sunday afterwards with splitting headaches, cleaning everything up scrupulously. About a week later I would come home from school and my mother would lead me to the deep freeze on the back porch to show me several empty beer cans and ask me what the hell was going on. The one place that I didn't look...

I know what you mean about the candy... My middle daughter teaches 2nd grade. I gave her the left over candy, for her 'treat' jar at school!!
