Wordless Wednesday: Blackbirds
Snapped this one in the parking lot of the Super Wally World. A gigantic flock of blackbirds was looking to roost on anything that would hold them up. Does anyone else see these wierd giant flocks of urban blackbirds?
We have starlings here. They group together in very large groups. It's weird to watch them fly because when they turn they turn as a group. Its weird and incredibly graceful.
i just got home from a week in Michigan, and i saw several "packs" (yes, i know they're 'flocks' but when they get crazy together, they remind me of packs of dogs!) of black birds flying crazily all around near the highway! it was weird-- they would all fly up into the air at once and swoop around a few times and then land again...for no apparent reason. it sort of looked like a big school of fish.
your photo looks rather edgar allen poe-ish to me! :)

Are they blackbirds or crows?? We have fisher crows in my neck of the woods, they are larger than a regular crow, and man do they ever make noise!!
Snapz good.
Yeah! now we have urbanized birds too :)

I hear that Alfred Hitchcock saw so many that he made a movie about them. Hey, do you ever feel like you are living a scene from "The Birds"? ha ha ha
