O is for On The Road Again

Hi everybody! Am on the road again. My brother, Sean, and I decided to go a long motorcycle trip to the sea. We rode 1174 miles on the first day from Norman, Oklahoma, to Lexington, South Carolina. That was more than enough to complete the 1,000 miles in 24 hours requirement for a "Saddle Sore" Iron Butt ride.

It rained down hard on us for the first 400 miles or so. Even the best rain gear can only take so much, so we got wet. We stopped at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee, to commune with the King of Rock and Roll. Will have pictures available later.

Am nursing a hand injury that really hurts. It may be a few days before we turn around and ride back. Will post more then.

G'day Skeeter,

It can't be much fun riding in the rain. I hope that you enjoyed your visit to Graceland.
I have a few questions:
How did you injure your hand?
Were you and Sean riding one bike or two?
What make and type of bike: American, British, German or Japanese?

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

G'day Skeeter,

This a message my workmate, Laurie (we call him Elvis).

"I wish iwas there with you with my Harley-Davidson Fat Boy travelling around especially to see Elvis's house. That's my life dream".

Regards,
Laurie"

I went to Graceland about fifteen years ago. I am still having nightmares about the jungle room.

Lucky you! That sounds amazing. I went to Graceland with a friend--we rode the "train they call the city of New Orleans" down there and a Greyhound back...what a trip...and yup, still an occasional shiver when I think of that Jungle Room!!!

can't wait to see some pics...

I can't imagine how dangerous it is to ride a motorcycle in the rain. It sounds like you are a careful driver, but motorcycles scare me...I a real sissy, huh?!
